The Marlborough Downs is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and rightly so. Covering some 650 square miles, it takes in rolling chalk downland and the Savernake Forest. The forest is home to several oak trees that are over a thousand years old and is shrouded by golden autumnal hues in late October and early November.

This photographic tour is designed to take in a good cross section of what this outstanding area of Wiltshire has to offer, from big vistas to iconic beech tree clumps and chalk horses.

The Marlborough Downs is home to centuries of history with the 'Ridgeway' ancient road running for sixty miles along the crest of the downs, past ancient burial chambers, white chalk horses cut into the hillsides, monuments to the self-important, Roman encampments and the famous, picturesque beech tree clumps planted on hill tops for who knows what purpose?

At the heart of all of this history is the stunning Neolithic earthwork of Silbury Hill and the impressive stone circle of Avebury, just a fifteen-minute drive from our base in the quaint Wiltshire town of Marlborough.

14.00 on Sunday 30th until 18.00 on Wednesday2nd.

Location

We will be based in the Wiltshire market town of Marlborough.

Requirements

• Your own camera equipment and a basic understanding of how it works.

• Warm waterproof clothing and walking boots.

• A reasonable degree of fitness is required as there will be some walking to locations over rough terrain.

• Transport will be provided to all the locations, but please make your own way to the hotel on the Sunday.

• Maximum group size is just three people to insure individual attention, tuition and contact
  time with Jeremy. This also allows for a more informal and relaxed workshop experience.
